GMC PTO STAR AWARDS

Each year the Germantown Municipal Council PTO recognizes those who go above and beyond for each of our Germantown Municipal Schools. Award recipients and their families are invited to attend this “red carpet” event where they are honored with a finger food reception before the ceremony, red carpet photos, and a ceremony in our district board room recognizing all recipients. Award recipients are nominated by their volunteer board, a school administrator, or anyone who recognizes the nominee's exceptional service to their school.

Nominees for this award should demonstrate exceptional dedication and service to their schools. Whether this person chairs an amazing event each year or is a key volunteer who makes it all come together, the S.T.A.R. nominee is kind and caring, brings out the best in others, and exemplifies the four criteria of the of the S.T.A.R. Award. Nominees may be a parent, a teacher, an administrator, adult volunteer, school crossing guard, or police officer. Four nominees from each school are awarded every year.

LEGACY OF EXCELLENCE

The Legacy of Excellence Award was created in memory of Kristen Ames Melton, who tragically passed away in October 2016. Kristen’s legacy is one of kindness, selflessness, and a tremendous work ethic. She never hesitated to go above and beyond for anyone and everyone, even those she had just met. Nominees for the Legacy of Excellence Award should embody the qualities that made Kristen so very special. Consideration for the Kristen Melton Legacy of Excellence is only given to outstanding VOLUNTEERS in our district. One nominee from all schools is awarded every year.
