  • Wednesday, April 29th - Friday, May 1st: SeniorExams
  • Sunday, May 3rd: Baccalaureate, 2pm, Germantown Baptist Church
  • Thursday, May 7th: Seniors will participate in Grad Walks at all GMSD feeder schools. Students should RSVP here. That night, SGA will host our SeniorSunset at 7pm!
  • Friday, May 8th: Graduation Practice, 10am, Bellevue Baptist Church
  • Friday, May 8th: Graduation Ceremony, 6pm, Bellevue Baptist Church

CAPS AND GOWNS: Caps and gowns will be issued on April 20th, April 21st, and April 22nd during the school day.

 

All students will wear black robes with a Houston stole. No other stoles may be worn except for National Honor Society. Students may wear any cord awarded to them by an approved HHS club or organization. The cap, gown, tassel, cords, and stole are yours to keep. After the program, students will pick up their academic records in the area where they assembled before the ceremony.

 

TICKETS: Each student will be given 8 graduation tickets on April 20th, April 21st, and April 22nd when they pick up their cap and gown. Tickets are required for all guests. Live streaming will be available. A link will be sent out to parents and students closer to graduation.

 

DRESS FOR BACCALAUREATE & GRADUATION:

No flip flops, tennis shoes, shorts, or denim. Students must be dressed properly to participate in graduation.

GIRLS - Cap, gown, stole, dress shoes, dress/skirt, or dark pants. Low heeled dress shoes are strongly suggested. No purses.

BOYS - Cap, gown, stole, dress shoes with socks, dark or khaki pants, dress shirt with a tie.

 

 

BACCALAUREATE: The baccalaureate service is a student led and PTSO sponsored, optional denominational worship ceremony held at Germantown Baptist Church at 2pm on Sunday, May 3rd. Caps and gowns will be worn. Graduates should arrive by 1:40pm. Family members are welcome, and tickets are not needed to attend.

 

In order to have an estimated head count and reserve the appropriate number of seats for graduates, please RSVP here if you plan to attend the baccalaureate service.

 

GRADUATION PRACTICE: Graduation practice will be at 10am Friday, May 8th at Bellevue Baptist Church. SENIORS MUST ATTEND and plan to stay until we are finished unless they have a scheduled AP test that day. They should wear appropriate school clothes to practice. PLEASE BE PROMPT. Senior English teachers will have seating assignments, and it will also be posted on the wall outside of the school counseling office. Seniors need to be in their assigned seat at 10:00 AM. Allow enough time for travel.

 

GRADUATION: The graduation ceremony will be held at 6pm on May 8th at Bellevue Baptist Church. Cap and gown must be brought on a hanger. Bobby pins may be needed to secure cap in place. Cap is to be worn flat on top of the head with the tassel to the right. Seniors should be in the designated area at 5:00 PM so that the roll can be checked. No parents are allowed in this area. Tickets are required for guests. 

 

PHOTOGRAPHS: Holland Studios will take pictures of each graduate and contact you with purchase information.

 

TRANSCRIPTS: All colleges require a final transcript. Students should follow the instructions from Ms. Kreitz on how to request a final transcript in Naviance. The deadline to request final transcripts is Friday, May 8th.

 

SCHOOL OBLIGATIONS: All work must be completed, all textbooks and laptops returned, and debts cleared prior to graduation practice.

 

CONDUCT: Graduation is important and serious. The ceremony is one that most of you have anticipated for a long time. We honor each of you for completing the requirements and the preparations for the next stage of your life. Please conduct yourselves in a manner of pride and respect for one another.


💻 Chromebook Turn-In Instructions

All Chromebooks must be returned to the Tech Office (Room M12) by your last school day.

  • Students not taking AP exams or exempt from semester exams:  Return your Chromebook on April 24 or April 27.
  • Students taking AP or semester exams: Return your Chromebook immediately after your last exam.

Devices not turned in by May 18 will be marked as lost, and a replacement fee of up to $400 will be charged. A hold will be placed on your diploma and/or transcripts, which could impact college enrollment.

If you are unable to return your device on time, please contact school technology staff as soon as possible.
